Spotted Hyena Cub

I took my husband to Kruger for his birthday in September. The day we arrived, we were driving to the Letaba Rest Camp when we came across this little fella lying on the side of the road. No sign of mum or other cubs though. He (or she!) really was very cute and it was extremely tempting to get out the car to give it a pat on the head but sanity prevailed. This is, after all, a wild animal and they don't know the rule about not biting the hand that feeds you. So we snapped some photos, oooed and aaahed some more and then left him in peace.
